Mark McLeod studied politics (Stanford, Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison, and Univ. of Calif., Berkeley, 1962-70), and went on to teach public policy and public administration at UCB and in the College of Professional Studies, University of San Francisco (1970-2000).  Simultaneously, Mark co-owned and managed several Bay Area restaurants, during which time he became intensely aware of the politics of food and the importance of linking these politics with the building of vibrant local living economies (1975-2005).
 
In 2005, Mark became increasingly committed to progressive advocacy in the related areas of urban economic development, smart growth, and the ways in which human beings could respond to rapidly accelerating climate change by the way in which they organized their communities and their lives.  Consequently, between 2005 and the present, Mark has served in the following roles:

Mark McLeod
Executive Director
Amy is an active volunteer and supporter of community based organizations addressing education, youth, homelessness, and poverty. She has provided pro-bono consulting services to non-profits through Net Impact and Taproot Foundation. In addition, she is a founding member of The Hub Bay Area - the first U.S.-based location of an international network of social entrepreneurs. She holds a BS in Economics and a MS in Organizational Behavior & Development. A Chicago-area native, Amy lives in Oakland, CA with her husband, daughters, and goldendoodle.
 
A2B Strategy is the realization of Amy’s desire to use her strengths for organizations focused on the triple bottom line: people, planet, prosperity. Since 2006, she has consulted with local small businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profits using business methods for social benefit. Amy has 15 years of experience planning and implementing organizational change initiatives, both as an employee and a consultant, with Fortune 500 financial services companies. She has deep experience in Customer Experience, Operations, Process Design & Improvement, and Change Management.

Erin is passionate about supporting local independent businesses and artists since these groups greatly improve the economic health and quality of life of our communities. To that end, she works at One PacificCoast Foundation on small business development and community development, co-founded Oakland Unwrapped!, serves on the boards of directors for the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA), the Sustainable Business Alliance, Oakland Merchant Leadership Forum (OMLF). 
Erin is a graduate of MIT's Master of City Planning program, where she worked with several community development and economic development corporations and developed neighborhood revitalization plans, performed neighborhood economic analyses, and conducted research on various community economic development topics. Before MIT, Erin spent several years working in technology training, instructional design and graphic design, most recently as Manager of Web Information Design at Oracle Corporation. There, she managed a team responsible for developing technology training for Oracle's sales force. She also worked in Oracle's Media Training Solutions group as a Project Manager. Prior to Oracle, Erin was a Software Trainer with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers and an Instructional and Graphic Designer with Educational Management Group in Scottsdale.

Carolina Miranda is the founder of Cultivating Capital, a certified B Corporation specializing in helping small business owners go green and market their business online. She works with East Bay businesses that are interested in developing sustainability strategies incorporating Green Business Certification and B Corp Certificatons. She also provides website development, blogging, and social media services through CC Marketing Online, the marketing division of her company.

She holds an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise that combines fundamental business skills with a deep understanding of sustainable business practices. She is a Green Business Consultant with the Alameda County Green Business Program and is a Board Member of the Sustainable Business Alliance. As Associate Director of the Institute for Environmental Entrepreneurship, she worked on triple-bottom line research and development and helped launch the website of the East Bay Environmental Network. Prior to starting her own business, she was the Sustainability and Marketing Manager for Greenerprinter, a Berkeley-based Green Business, and a Health & Safety Director for the American Red Cross.

Jenny Kassan is an attorney at and the managing director of Katovich & Kassan Law Group, a law firm specializing in social enterprise.  She is also CEO of Cutting Edge Capital and co-director of Sustainable Economies Law Center.
 
Jenny earned a masters degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of California at Berkeley and earned her J.D. from Yale Law School. She worked for eleven years at the Unity Council, a nonprofit community development corporation in Oakland.
 
She is passionate about keeping community wealth and resources local.
Jenny Kassan

Sunny Hill is the owner of Sunny Books, a bookkeeping and finance firm specializing in green-minded businesses and non-profits. Her specialties include green energy and laying the financial foundation for start-ups and the self-employed.
 
Over the ten years that she’s been in the Bay Area, Sunny has designed and installed a net zero native plant habitat garden at every residence she’s lived at. She has been a member of the SBA since 2006, volunteered her bookkeeping services to the SBA for 2007, and joined the board in 2010.
 
She volunteers at Tilden Botanic Garden, Golden Gate Audubon society, and WildCare. Sunny lives in Richmond and enjoys bird watching, hiking, and field sketching.

Christen is an attorney focused on nonprofits, co-ops, and socially responsible businesses. Through Katovich Law Group, she advises clients on start-up, financing, and operations. She has worked with food co-ops, clean energy collectives, worker-owned businesses, social enterprises, and educational groups. In addition to practicing law, Christen serves as Legal Education Director for the Sustainable Economies Law Center. Formerly a nonprofit consultant and trainer, she worked with economic, environmental, and racial justice organizations. Christen graduated from U.C. Berkeley Law School (Boalt Hall) and Yale University, for which she conducts student interviews. Christen served on the Features Screening Committee for the San Francisco International Asian American Film Fest. She has also trained and organized with Asian American community groups on civic engagement, workers’ rights, and language access.
